Having a lot of Fun these Past Months
Rob and I have had a lot going on these past months since we have been married! We have enjoyed the time we have spent living with his parents. Rob and I get the basement to ourselves which is like an apartment. His parents both work so we don't bug each other very much.
Rob and I both have jobs so we keep pretty busy and are saving money for school, which we will both be back to BYU-I this Fall. We have an apartment a little bit away from campus and its unfurnished.. So we are working on Furnishing our first apartment together =). We have a awesome couch so far, and the rest will probably be bought at IKEA. We are very blessed to have the jobs we do and Rob's parents who let us stay here for free at their house.
Oh we also got a car from his parents which was a big life saver, I am amazed at how well Rob takes care of our car and can figure out how to fix most things.
Rob and I also have Kings Island passes, which is this huge roller coaster park and water park. I feel bad because I am a big baby when it comes to roller coasters, but I do love the water park! It has great rides and two wave pools which helps with all the people that are there.
We had Dan and Kristen's wedding July 7, We thought it was great that they got married exactly 3 months after us! We enjoyed going out to Utah and spending time with the family. I seriously love all of Robbie's family we have so much fun together.
Dan and Kristen had a beautiful wedding and reception. It went really smoothly and they even had a bag piper!!! I was a little worried but it was unique and pretty amazing to see this man play the bag pipe...
Well after that we had three weeks till the Open house in Ohio Deborah did her duty to making sure everything was perfect! I think after 2 weddings she was pro at it, because when we had the open house everything was set up beautifully. It was also really easy to set up. However a wicked storm came threw and threw out the power right before the reception started. Luckily the storm made the air cool off and Rob and I ran home to get some candles and lights.. It was very interesting but at least 30min before it was supposed to end the power came back on haha... It was surly an adventure.
Well the next day everyone got up and ready to go down town Cincinnati for the Flying Pig tour. They have this festival type thing where businesses and schools make these sculptured pigs, maybe flying pigs and design them in their own way. It was truly amazing to see all these different kinds of pigs. Also to see all the history in Down town Cincinnati.
After that we went up one of the tallest buildings to see all of down town.. It was a little scary but we seemed to have fun with it. Carter pushed Jewels around and kept knocking her into the walls but she just laughed haha. Carter has sure made Jewels a tough little girl..
We then went to the Art Museum.. Which was pretty cool.. However I wore the wrong shoes so my feet were hurting really bad, and I was pretty tired by then... But we let everyone else enjoy it and we left with Diane and Aaron to this park/picnic area underneath the Big Mac Bridge! This was the coolest place, its right next to the Purple People Bridge. We at lunch and Rob and I played Tag with each other, which he snuck up behind me and scared me like usual...
Next we walked down the Purple People Bridge which went over the big river in Down Town Cincinnati.. It wall really pretty and cool to see all the different thing in Cincinnati! I have really learned to love Ohio!
Sunday we had Jeff's famous Crepes, which we so delicious... We then all got ready for church and then Dan and Kristen were off and so were Diane and Aaron..
The next week Rob and I went and played Disc Golf with a bunch of his friends from high school.. Ben, Ryan, JT, and Robbie's little brother Bryan.. It was a lot of fun and I am getting a lot better at the game which is great =).
So this past weekend Rob wanted to go to the Air Force Museum up in Dayton, It was pretty amazing all the plays and other things they had there.. We were there about 2 to 3 hours just looking at how fast things have advanced in just 60 years..
On our way back home we stopped at the Cincinnati Outlet and I thought I saw President Kunz from Magnolia, Texas. As soon as he saw me he yelled "Shanel!!" What are you doing here"? It was really great to see him and his family!
After we left there we stopped at IKEA! We were so amazed at how many people were at this store! It was crazy and the store is huge!!! It also gave us a chance to figure out what we wanted! Which was great!
Well this Tuesday Brian left for his mission, it was truly amazing to see someone study and try to be as prepared as he can. I know he will do amazing things in the field in Austria!!!
Well I think I have everything caught up =)
